We conducted a survey with 51 respondants. Of those 51, 16 had participated in a debate.

37.5% of the people who had participated in a debate, said a debate that they had been in had been ruined when it became too heated or devolved into personal attacks, which Dove prevents.

And of the 29 respondents who had watched a debate,  58.6% had seen the above scenario.
